Poetry by Theme
While poetry can take many forms, most of those presented here have a traditional structure in that they emphasise rhyme and rhythm.
Naturally, because poetry is a dense, multi-layered means of communicating ideas and concepts, many of the poems cross the somewhat artificial theme categories adopted here. In the interests of minimising duplication, each poem has been assigned to a single theme, and only where directly relevant has it been included in another one.
These poems are written not for haste or entertainment, but for reflection, wonder and contemplation. They seek to draw attention beyond themselves; toward beauty, longing and deeper truths that often remain hidden beneath the noise of daily life.
